This is the spine I have designed to go with my album, It uses the same theme as the rest of the album cover and also includes the record label which is also often found on a case.

Reason for white background of my cover/advert.

A few people including my teacher have said they don't understand why I have such a plain background to my work. They say that white is too boring and doesn't stand out well compared to a filter I could use. Also I was told that no artist would ever have a plain white background as it doesn't appeal. Because of this I have decided to post a selection of existing album covers that have a plain white background.

Magazine Advertisement.

This is the magazine advertisement for my production. I have used the same themes and colours as my album cover to help with its ability to be recognised in a shop after seeing the advert. My magazine would be printed in magazines such as KERRANG! which often accommodate to my target audience of teenagers who enjoy listening to similar bands such as blink-182, Sum 41 and Green Day.

Moving Storyboard.

After I created my storyboard I thought to myself it would be a lot easier for me to cut it up and sync it over Final Cut with my chosen song to create a moving timeline of events for my video. I loaded "Movies" onto the program and then took pictures of each of my pieces of storyboard and loaded them onto the computer, then I imported them to Final Cut and lined the up with the song, figuring out where abouts I want my scene/angle changes to be according to the main beat of the song.
Below is my moving storyboard which I have uploaded to YouTube.

Poster Advertisement: Style Model.

For my magazine poster I have decided to take inspiration from an advert for Biffy Clyro's album "Opposites"which was found on the back cover of the NME edition released 26/1/13.

Stage.

For the performance segment of my video I will be recording in the hall, below are some pictures of the performance area.

Lighting.

Seeing as my video will be partly shot outside during the day; in these segments extra lighting will not be required as it won't even make a difference to the overall brightness of the scene.

However for the performance segment in the hall or the extra parts such as filming the movie segments extra lighting may be needed to help light up faces, movements etc. for this I will use the InterFit Super 5 light which I will place in spots which need an extra wash of colour.

Equipment for my video...

When it comes to recording my video I will be using a variety of equipment, mainly a Nikon DSLR, a Velbro tripod, a go pro camera and a JVC everio. This will give me a wide array of ways to shoot and capture the best angles for my work.

Nikon DSLR

Velbon Tripod

Go-Pro
JVC Everio

Go-Pro camera testing...

As I have never used a Go-Pro camera before I decided to give it a simple test run by filming David (the guitar player in my band) playing the opening riff to "Movies".

MCA records.

MCA was a record company from America which produced many famous bands albums including some of blink-182's who's album "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" is what my back case is based upon. They are no longer a world-wide record label but I have still decided to use their logo on my work, this is because I like the look of the logo and think MCA's associated acts was similar to the image I would like to create to my band.

Staging Camera Placement

Camera Plans

These are the camera plans for the performance segment of my video.
They are both of the same room this first one is of the whole room, the second post will be of the staging cameras.

New Year

It is now 2013 and I am ready to start the actual production of my video, first off though I need to upload the other two band members photos onto the back cover of the album, this won't take long and once finished filming can start.
