filming
I will start filming for my video after christmas, preferably around mid January all I need to do is come up with some sort of schedule that all my actors can stick to.
Play The Fool band members.
I have found people to act as band members in PTF, these are:
Greg Reynolds (me) - Vocals
David Robinson - Guitar
Callum Simmons - Bass
Will Fraser - Drums
I know these people will be able to film as soon as it is needed and are also ok to have pictures of them taken for things such as album covers / adverts.

back cover third draft
This is the third draft of my album, I have added a barcode and a logo for the label (which is a real world label called MCA).
back cover second draft
This is the second draft of my back cover. I have added details about websites and the label and also the t and c's regarding copyright and distribution which I feel is a must for any existing cd cover.
back cover first draft
This is the first draft of my back cover for my album, I have placed the track listing on the left hand side and also it is in a font which is the same as the front cover and the colour scheme is also the same.
front cover, final draft
This is the final draft of my cd front cover. I have added a parental advisory sticker which co-insides with some of the track names which appear on the back cover which have swearing (censored in the title)

Back cover ideas.
Although I have yet to physically do my back cover. I have an idea in mind as to what I would like. I would like to have a white background (to go with the front cover) along with the track listing and an image of the band on the right, similar to Blink 182s album "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" Although for my album I would like to have a more traditional approach by having the track listing run down the left hand side.

Drafts of cd cover
These are several similar drafts of my cd design for my project. I have kept the main outlay and just messed around with different colours for the title to help visual appeal. After asking around many of my peers the overwhelming majority thought that the 3rd draft with the red and black font was best as the black writing stood out better against the white background whilst the red elipses went well with the logo and the general design. The title for my album is "These Days..." which is in reality also a song by Alien Ant Farm and will be a single featured on the tracklist on the back of the case.
Color version of logo
This is my logo with a colour change, I find bands often do this for specific releases often to make the product more appealing and to see as a break from the normality of the original logo I am using this design on my cd cover as I think it stands out better and gives it more appeal.

The Real "Movies" Video....s
The song "Movies" is associated with three separate music videos below is each video with a brief description:
In the first video the band are simply performing on a fairly plain set with crew and various references to the movie industry such as the Hollywood sign and scenes from various films on a screen in the background.
The second video is similar in that the band are performing without much of a storyline although this time its at a party with a crowd and it has a vague background tale in which each band member whilst playing notice a girl and take them out of the way on their own to "fool around" with but each of the girls turn out to be strange in some way (which may reflect the movies theme) the band then leave the party in their tour bus and it closes with the girls lined up on the porch.
The last video is the most famous one and the only one (I think) which is shown on music channels today. It is set in a movie theatre and incorporates performance and storyline better than the other this video is also extended at the beginning and in the middle to add to the storyline and has a guest appearance from Pat Morita. This video focuses on the movie theme the most as it has constant reference to famous films such as "Ghostbusters" and "Edward Scissorhands" whilst the whole video is set in the cinema.

"Movies" lyrics
These are the lyrics to the song "Movies" which I am using for my video:
At slow speed we all seem focused
In motion we seem wrong
In summer we can taste the rain
Chorus:
I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene
Two can play this game
We both want power
In winter we can taste the pain
In our short years, we come long way
To treat it bad and throw away
Chorus:
I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene
You won't cry, I won't scream
In our short years we come long way
To treat it bad and throw away
And if we make a little space
A science fiction showcase
In our short film, a love disgrace
Dream a scene to brighten face
In our short years we come long way
To treat it bad, just to throw it away
Chorus:
I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene
You won't cry, I won't scream
At slow speed we all seem focused
In motion we seem wrong
In summer we can taste the rain

PROBLEM! song change.
Due to unreliability of Kyle I have been forced into a song change for my music video, and decided to go for a song which still fits the results of my survey. The song I have chosen is "Movies" by Alien Ant Farm. This song is still a rock song and I have an idea for it which incorporates the combination of storyline and live performance plus the song still fits in with my band logo as the music is of the same genre. Unlike "Bite My Tongue" though "Movies" is a light hearted song about breaking up with a girl. I now need to get a few people to act either as band members or as actors for the storyline which I will draw up soon. "Movies" is more of a punk rock song and i intend to reflect this with the bands style, both in behaviour and in dress sense. I am still taking the role of lead singer.

Casting For Video
Once I had chosen my song I needed to decide upon a cast for my video. The song included a "screamo" segment for which I wanted a person who fits the stereotypical appearance of a screamo singer. My friend Kyle Kent said he was interested and his general aura fitted the bill, he was also a fan of Oli Sykes, the man who's lyrics he would be singing so there was no worry of commitment.
For the rest of the song I decided to use myself. I saw it as easier as I knew the lyrics, enjoyed the song and I knew what I wanted to achieve from this character. Also me and Kyle get along so would easily work well together.

Song Choice
Following my surveys I saw that the majority of answers called for a rock song, particularly by either You Me At Six (YM@6/YMA6) or Blink 182 but I didn't want to narrow myself to one of these bands so I created a second list of related bands and songs and chose from them they were:
YMA6 - Bite My Tongue
Blink 182 - Story Of A Lonely Guy
The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright
Linkin Park - Numb
30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill
Out of these songs I liked the idea of doing a "heavy" song, this narrowed my choice down to YMA6 or 30STM. In the end I chose Bite My Tongue as I have the better ideas for a video concerning this song.

Editing Logo
These are the stages of developing my logo. Using photoshop and tools such as magic eraser I manipulated images to create a badge.
Play The Fool Logo Designs...
For my band Play The Fool (PTF) I have created various logos for artwork such as the digipack and in the end narrowed it down to two designs...
I have chosen the first logo for my project as I feel the lighter colours work better than the darker equivalent also I asked classmates which they liked more and the majority chose the first version.

Gathering Information; Surveys
To help collect info on which genre of music I should use for my video I produced a questionnaire and collected around 200 answers which varied from solid paper copies to an identical online version using "Survey Monkey". Below I have included photographs of a few paper replies of my survey as well as a blank copy...
